An emerging artist Amy Steel will enact the performance ‘Vent’ at the gallery. The event is an affiliate program for the 'Nocturnal Creatures’ late evening event organised by the Whitechapel Gallery. There will be three sessions, at 7pm, 8pm and 9pm on Saturday 17th July and each session will last about 8-10 minutes. The gallery will be open until 11pm for the occasion.
Booking is not necessary, but please bring your face coverings. In case the number of audience surpasses the reasonable level in light of the still continuing health issues, we may ask you to view the performance from outside the full-glass front of the gallery. We will make sure that everyone can enjoy the full view.
Steel’s hypnotic performance will add a whole new dimension to the gallery space, not only as a freestanding work of time-based live art, but also as a part of the architecture and in active dialogue with the works of Farnaz Gholami and Alexandra Searle which inhabit the galley space for the ongoing show ‘Harbinger of a sweet song’.
We are very enthusiastic that we can finally present a live performance at the gallery, and we would like to celebrate this occasion with many of you!
